Guru Gobind Sahib ji blessed our family with following this footsteps from Birth to Death in December 2024. Just living his life in places where he lived and then left the earth. I have felt like writing him a letter as I do miss him, especially more after this journey in December 2024. So here you go
Dear Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji,
When I meet you I feel you now, My needs disappear. The only need is the one to meet you, feel you, be the one with you, immersed in you, for you someone that world, if understood would become as pure as you.
While I don't have the capacity to understand your being, I try and fail miserably. You came after an inflection point of sainthood from your pure previous life, and when I meet you, for that moment I become as pure as you. Then you send me back to the world, to be.
You never wanted anything for yourself, only for others.
I can understand this from your actions - but then in the end you also said that destruction was not in your realm, not ordered to you, only to give justice.
You did not want a kingdom Guru Sahib, but at least should not have punished us for remembering you. Maharaja Ranjit Singh did not listen to this order and lost his entire generations.
Did you bless him to be who you are?
Is this what every Sikh supposed to be?
Serve in silence... no recognition.
Is this the becoming of a Sikh?
Raj no chahu, mukht na chahu.
And then when you sacrificed your entire family, you said,
Hawa, Go tell my Almighty l, I am doing okay.
Miter pyare nu hal murida da Kahna,
My Ardaas is that every Sikh can immerse himself/herself in you.
Your predecessors did the same thing, Guru Nanak Sahib exemplified teaching at cost of his reputation. Yet we worldly people worry so much! How can we find that tenacity - so we are fearless. You as Guru want to be forgotten, yet we remember you because you want us to forget you.
We worldly people only believe what we see. You show us God, but we don’t understand, we saw you and then you left and told us I am here through Guru Granth Sahib.
Alas, I am still searching...
Is getting to know God being kind, being pure not wanting anything, loving everyone around us, reading Gurbani as much as we can, living the life as a tenant here, taking actions each day for others, just because I don't want anything...
And then this goes on until you direct me to Gurbani that has the answers and the devotion to read it comes once I have the desire to love you constantly.
Gurbani has the answers
Jo nar dukh mein dukh nahi mane...
Life itself has no purpose
The only purpose is to find the Almighty, each breath understanding who you are, and if I don't, I have wasted my breath.
You are the only goal. So now to get to that, I need to have intrinsic motivation to remember your constantly.
How can that happen?
Eh bani jo jio Jane,
Tis antar rave har nama
Satgurur ki jis no mat aave,
So satguru mahe samana
Gavo, Suno Paro nit Bhai
Guru Puro te rakhyo
Prabh bani sabad subhkhaya,
Kar ishanan simar prabh apna
Man tan paya aroga
...
And then I understand coming to being, Waheguru Ji
Each breath you gave is for remembering you, immersed in you here, so I have so much practice that when I done with this body. I (my soul) finds solace in you.
Waheguru Ji, keep me in this moment please.
This is the most peace I get
Waheguru ji
It's very correct. Life of selflessness is the supreme lesson Guru Gobind Singh Ji has given us.
