Concept of Prabhat Feri
I reminisce times from 70's when Prahbat Feri would go through the streets in the town to commemorate Guru Nanak's Sahib Prakash Utsav. Then there was a time when Sikh families would invite darshan of Prabhat Feri in their house and they would be singing Guru's shabads and be served Chah langar with ardaas. This required planning from local Gurdwara Sahib. The outcome was that participants from the township would join in as the group and attend to two to three hours of Shabad singing and getting our soul to attend to Guru's word. The Feri was almost like a processing that went through the streets starting from the Gurdwara Sahib and ending back there.

The Feri (Pheri) is a ritual practice we Sikhs grew up with. After moving to California in 1988 and being blessed with becoming a techie, San Jose Gurdwara Sahib is hosting Prabhat Pheri. How can we build on that idea and expand it?
I am inspired this morning to work with our community to creating a Prabhat Feri app for local townships in collaboration with local Gurdwaras. This will be a great way to bring back the old ritual of singing Shabads.
