A Sikh must listen - which means silencing the mouth and then the mind. It is then the vibration of the Akal Purkh appears in a pure soul.

To silence my mind, I had to listen to Gurbani "Ek Onkar" so I only think about the One - without the One I am nothing - doing this until such time I get tearful, knowing I am nothing and need Him for my very existence.
Listening can give awareness and insighful of the Hukam - to see things as they are in day-to-day.

When Guru is acting on a person's behalf, then Guru comes in day-to-day Karm.
